Coastguards to the rescue
Two dogs have recently been rescued, in separate incidents, by the Coastguard on the Isle of Man. Now local dog owners are being warned to take care when exercising their pets near the island’s cliffs and coastal areas.
The first rescue took place when Peel Coastguard were called to the sandy cliffs at Glen Wyllin. The second incident saw Douglas Coastguard rescue a dog from the foot of cliffs in Marine Drive. Both dogs were found safe and well and returned to their owners.
Manx Coastguard is urging anyone whose dog requires rescuing to call them out rather than attempting a rescue that would risk placing themselves in danger.
