Dogs from 40 countries compete
for the European Winner Title in Helsinki
 About 10,000 dogs from 40 countries are participating for the European Winner 2006
Dog Show arranged by the Finnish Kennel Club.
The European Winner show is held in
Helsinki Fair Centre on 9th to 11th June.
The Finnish Kennel Club is arranging
its second big international event within six months.
Dogs representing a total of 300 breeds
are participating.
Over 4,200 of the entries are from abroad.
The second-largest group after the Finnish dogs
are Russian dogs: about 2,100 of them.
The other large groups are Swedish (450),
Estonian (230), Italian (210), and Latvian (150) dogs.
About 50,000 visitors are expected.
Ticket Prices
The ticket prices for the show weekend are:
One-day children’s ticket (5 to 12 years) 7 Euro, adults 15 Euro.
One-day family ticket for two adults and children, 30 Euro.
All-inclusive ticket for the event, 25 Euro.

SKC2 heading our way.....
 NO SOONER has the first SKC come and gone than
the schedule for the second Scottish KC general championship show appears!
The August show will take place over 2 days at the Royal Highland Showground, Ingliston, with gundogs, hounds, terriers and agility on Saturday 26th and working, pastoral, utility breeds and toys on
Sunday 27th.
The show will open at 7.30am each day (main spectator gate will open at 9am), dogs will be received until 11.30 and judging will start at 9.30am unless otherwise notified.
Entry fees remain at £22 first entry per dog for breeds with CCs (with a reduction of £2 for SKC members) and £11 first entry per dog for non-CC breeds, AVNSC and IR classes (reduction of £1.50 for SKC members); additional entries with the same dog (also the brace class and JH) are £5; dogs entered not for competition will be £7 (there will also be a facility for unentered dogs at this show).
Catalogues are £4 pre-paid (to be collected by 11.30am) or £5 on the day; a car parking fee of £2 will be payable on arrival. Passes will be issued on a one dog/one handler basis; additional passes may be booked with entries at £4.50 adults (£5 on the day) or £2 senior citizens/children.
Caravan space can be booked at £35 from Thursday 24th, or £40 from Monday 21st – to be booked by Friday Aug 12 (£35 or £45 without booking) – see page 29 of the schedule for booking form.
As usual, there will be eye-testing (with Mr Malcolm Davidson) at a cost of £25 per dog (see page 14 of the schedule for booking form), as well as microchipping at £20 per dog (£18 for SKC members).
There are no overseas judges, BIS will be judged by Mr Geoff Corish (Sealaw), who will also be doing the utility and terrier groups.
